Hey guys! Welcome to my 15 week pregnancy blog.
I wanted to start doing blogs about our pregnancy, both so that someday I can look back on them and to help out anyone going through their first pregnancy as well. We are doing everything as healthy and natural as possible, just like every other aspect of our lives, but especially because this little one is still growing and developing.
(We are not finding out the gender till the baby is born, so we lovingly refer to them as Squish-Bean)

Baby Facts: Squish-Bean is now the size of a Hass Avocado, and is roughly 3 inches long.
What foods does Squish-Bean like?
- Strawberries are their favorite!
- Chicken Sandwiches
- Mozzarella Sticks
What foods does Squish-Bean NOT like?
- Mushrooms
- Apples
How is Mama?
Not nauseous! There were a few weeks leading up to this one where I would randomly get sick once a week, and without warning. Its gross, but I ended up having to throw up in the sink a few times because it came on all of a sudden. This week though, I haven’t had any nausea, and no vomiting.
I have not had any luck gaining weight, and actually lost 2lbs. I feel like I’ve been eating a lot though, and I’ve limited my exercises to yoga and Tai Chi, so I’m not burning too many extra calories. We asked my mom if she had that same problem when she was pregnant, and she said she did. There where no complications because of it though. The whole time she was pregnant with each of us she only gained 25lbs total. That being said, I’m not super worried about it.
No baby bump photos just yet!
I have had a MAJOR increase in tiredness.
Any time Ashton and I go to sit down on the couch there is a 50/50 chance I will just pass out for two or more hours. Like yesterday, we were reading together after lunch and I was out from 3pm till almost 5:30pm.

What’s new this week?
Last Monday we had our first prenatal appointment! We had our consultation a few weeks back, but this time they had my give a urine sample and they took my blood to do lab work. I had never had my blood drawn before, so that was a neat first experience! I didn’t pass out or feel any discomfort, so it was a pretty good first experience.
We have chosen to do a home-birth, which I am very excited about. I love the idea that we wont have to leave our home, and that we will be in a safe, happy place when the baby is born. Our midwife service is Sacred Song Homebirth, based out in Shawnee Kansas, and they are just lovely. Their office feels like going over to a friends house instead of a lab. All of the midwives have been super attentive and ask lots of questions, and they seem very supportive and happy to be doing what they are doing.
Prenatal Chiropractic
Also new, yesterday I started going to a new Chiropractor. They specialize in prenatal care, and are a family clinic so they are able to adjust infants and children as well. They use a technique called “Websters” which helps to get the baby in the best possible position for birth. We are doing everything possible for a smooth pregnancy, and I’m really happy about all the steps we are taking.
How is Prep going?

Ashton and I have been working on preparing the baby room, and preparing ourselves mentally for everything being a parent means. This is our first pregnancy, and I feel like its really brought us to a new level of love and understanding. Its a totally new experience for us both, and we have been doing our best to make sure Squish-Bean is getting all the nutrients they need to grow.
Ashton has been amazing. He is so attentive to my needs, whether that means getting up with me at 2am when I have been sick, or running out to get food at 8pm when I’m having cravings. He takes such good care of both of us, and I’m so blessed to have such a good, loving husband.
All in all, pregnancy has been good so far!
We are taking it one day at a time, and have gotten so much love and support from friends and family who are willing to help and do whatever they can for us. We already have 2 baby blankets, a little outfit, a pair of baby boots, a stuffed piglet (they will be a year of the pig baby like Ashton!), a diaper bag and rocking chair. So much love, thank you all for being so great and supporting us so much.
Till next time,
