27 weeks pregnant

Hey everyone! Thanks for checking back and watching our pregnancy journey. I am 27 weeks pregnant this week, which means baby is 27 weeks old, 15 inches long and over 2lbs in weight so far.

Growing so much!

27 Weeks pregnancy Baby Facts:

Squish-Bean is now the size of a Bunch of Banana’s, and is about 15 inches long.

Baby is growing SO much! I still can’t believe some times how big they are, but I can definitely feel it now as my belly is stretching out more and more.

What does Squish-Bean like?

  • FOOD. Squish-bean does a happy food dance whenever I eat now.
  • Pushing on the walls of their room.
  • Kicking and moving!

What does Squish-Bean NOT like?

  • Loud noises
  • When I lay on my back for too long

How is Mama?

Oh my goodness, so soooore.

My hips and joints have been pretty constantly hurting, but Ashton is so great and gives me lots of massages.

I feel like this trimester I’ve been pretty tired, but over all it was a lot better than the first trimester.

We are slowly approaching the third trimester! That is so exciting because it means we get to meet our little one soon. It seems like this pregnancy has gone by so fast, and also like I’ve been pregnant for a long time.

I miss exercising like I used to, and I miss regular coffee. But I love getting to feel the baby move and wiggle around, and I am SO excited to be starting our own little family.

So much is constantly changing as we are planning out the next year, and the next steps in our life, but it has made us refocus and remember that this is all part of God’s plan. My favorite verse to look back on when I am anxious or worried is Matthew 6:26-27

Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

If God takes care of the birds, how much more does He take care of us?

Anything new?

We are officially planning our baby shower! And by that, I mean that I am getting the date figured out and my lovely best friend Emma Grace is taking the reigns and being totally awesome.

She is gonna be such a great Aunt for little Squish-bean, and I am so happy that they are gonna have so many great people to love on them!

We are still working on baby’s room, but it is clean and coming together! It’s mostly needing to pack some of my office stuff like essential oils and candle making stuff into sealed containers and moving the shelving unit they will be on.

Over all…

I think we are getting mentally and physically prepped pretty well! At 27 weeks pregnant, Ashton and I are settling into the idea that Squish-bean will be here before we know it, and we are getting some financial cushion ready for when I am on Maternity leave.

Our baby appointments with our midwives are going really well, and baby is healthy and normal! So all is good there. I am more and more happy that we decided on a home birth everyday, and am excited to be able to be home with the little one from the get go.
