One day… or Day One.
In December, my fitness group started talking about what we wanted to do in the new year. When my coach announced that we would be doing Wendy Speake’s 40 Day Sugar Fast, I was so excited!
We are doing the sugar fast PLUS a Beachbody program called LIIFT4.
This exercise program is a weight lifting + HIIT training series, and while I am currently only 2 days in, I LOVE it! I didn’t realize how much I missed lifting.
You may have a couple questions, like…
Why am I doing this?
First off,
This is not a crash diet, or a new years resolution fad.

I don’t hate my body, I’m not overly insecure or unhappy with my appearance.
But, I have felt healthier.
I love my body, and want to take care of it the best I can!
That way I can live a long, healthy life with my family.
I have done lot’s of exercise programs, diet and lifestyle changes, and I know how my body and mind feel at their best.
I had our baby boy in late 2019, and it totally changed my body. And ladies, our bodies aren’t designed to “bounce back” to how they were previously.
But we can make our bodies even stronger than they were before!

Secondly, I know I need to get back on track spiritually.
2020 was hard!
I know I let myself focus on other things more than my faith, and more than my physical fitness.
This is an opportunity to heal myself in more ways than one.
Can women get back in shape after having babies?
Absolutely they can.
Trainer Jericho McMathews is the mom to a sweet little boy, and she has great abs and is very fit.

She also had an unexpected C-Section, but didn’t let that stop her.
In this article Jericho talks about getting back in shape after giving birth to her son.
Angelina Jolie had C-Sections with 3 of her children, and she looks great as well.
Those are just two examples, but it’s so possible to get back into shape, and that is one of my main goals.
Benefits of cutting out Sugar
Cutting sugar in your diet can have a lot of great benefits!
Some of these benefits include: weight loss, lowered chance of heart disease, less risk of cavities, better ability to workout, and a lowered risk of disease in the future.
My goals for my 40 Day Sugar Fast + LIIFT4 Results
This is gonna be real honest, and is mostly for me to look back on.

I don’t expect to be in as amazing shape as the woman pictured above by the end of 40 days, but hey, maybe by the end of 2021! (or 2022 lol).
The weight I’ve felt the healthiest at is 128lbs, at my height of 5’4″.
When I was this lean, I was rock climbing, as well as doing light cardio, heavy weight lifting and kick boxing weekly.
A lot of extra activity! Plus I always had a full time job that kept me on my feet, and I have been a stay at home mom since Oct 2019.
My current weight one year after having Arthur is 163.8 lbs, and I am hoping by the end of this program + sugar fast I can get down to 140lbs.
Honestly, I feel a lot of this gain has been musculature, but I would love to see the number drop nonetheless.
Along with weight loss, I am looking to tone up, and feel more comfortable in my clothes again.
The 40 Day Sugar fast is not only about physical transformation, but spiritual rectification.

That may sound really heavy.
Fasting is not only about detox and weight loss, but giving up something to find something else.
I feel like with adjusting to mom life, and with 2020 the way it was, spirituality has been a bit rough for me.
I haven’t made enough time to read my Bible or pray, and that has made me feel dried up.
The main goal of the 40 Day Sugar Fast is to give up sugar, and replace it with Jesus.
I am going to be more intentional with my time, and make this year one for a healthy life mentally, physically and spiritually.
Thank you for your love and support, I can’t wait to update you on where this journey leads!
