- 4 cups of bread cubes any type of bread, preferably day-old or stale
- 1/4 cup of olive oil or melted butter
- 2 cloves of garlic minced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of dried herbs such as thyme, oregano, or Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
Season the Bread
In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil (or melted butter), minced garlic (if using), dried herbs, salt, and pepper.
Add the bread cubes to the bowl and toss them until they are evenly coated with the seasoned oil mixture.
Bake the Croutons
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Spread the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Bake for 10-15 minutes, turning the cubes halfway through to ensure even browning. Bake until the croutons are golden brown and crispy.
