blog traffic, how to get more traffic, blogging tips

Let’s start with numbers:

If your’e like me, when you are looking for blogging advice, you want the numbers up front.

I currently (as of January 2020) have 1.2 Million monthly viewers on Pinterest, and in January I was able to hit almost 28,000 views to my blog.

These numbers keep growing, and since then I have been accepted into my ad network, Mediavine.

This was a goal I have had for a LONG time, and it feels unreal being a part of this community!

Today, I’m going to show you how I started to SKYROCKET my blog traffic, and how you can do it too.

The secret to good traffic

I have been blogging for about a year and a half at this point (May 2018-Nov 2019), and while I know that isn’t a SUPER long time, I feel like it has given me a good chunk of experience. Today I want to give you my blog traffic secrets, and tell you everything I’ve learned that has led to me getting at least 10k visits per month.

First, let me tell you that blogging is not an easy job, but once you figure it out it is SO worth it.

These are the steps I take that really have gotten me the best traffic. I don’t want to hand you generic advice that a lot of people give in these kinds of posts, so bare with me when I say: read till the end. I’ve got some great stuff for you.

What makes up blog traffic?

If you have a WordPress blog, which I’m almost certain you do if you are reading this, you may know what Jetpack is.

Jetpack is the analytics on your website that lets you see where your traffic is coming from. It tells you where and how much traffic you are getting from what sources, and even what search terms people are looking for when they find your articles.

Blog traffic is anything that gets you clicks to your website.

For most people, this is going to come from Pinterest.

Pinterest is the BEST source of traffic for us bloggers, because when people go to Pinterest they are looking for answers. Whether it be what to cook for dinner, how to get rid of a migraine, or how to potty train their toddler, people are looking for answers to their problems.

That is where you come in my friend.

Your blog or website should first and foremost provide someone with something. An answer to their problem, something they can buy for themselves or a loved one, or be a source of information that gives them hope and makes them feel like they are not alone.

This is the first and most important thing you need to know about getting traffic.

What are people looking for, and why would they come to you for help?

blogging traffic secrets, pinterest hacks

Pinterest is key… but not the only one.

Pinterest is an amazing resource, and you are gonna need to learn how to use it. But first, we need to set some ground rules, or just knowing how to use Pinterest isn’t gonna do much for you.

Be VERY Consistent

Consistency is the number one skill you need to learn to succeed as a blogger, and keep your audience engaged.

If people are coming back to your site to see what new articles you have, but you haven’t posted anything new in a month, they will likely stop coming back.

An engaged audience is the lifeblood of a healthy, thriving blogging business.

New visitors are great, and SO necessary, but the ones that come back are the ones that buy your products, support you, and cheer you on as you succeed. Give them consistency, and they will return the favor.

Colors and Text

To be truly good at blogging, you need to be a boss at graphic design.

Or you need to hire someone who is.

I took graphic design as one of my many, many art classes in college. So for me, I have the advantage of being highly educated in this subject.

Color schemes and font matter.

Check out this chart for color based on emotion for logo design. This chart is a tool I used in my color theory class, and I still use it today to help me design pins.

Your design matters

People like pretty websites.

Not only that, but cohesive, fast, high functioning and up to date websites.

Its very obvious when a blog or website is out of date. What was the last time you spent more than 20 seconds on a clunky, 90’s quality website? I can tell you right now, I don’t spend any time with those.

Don’t get me wrong, the articles might be AMAZING, but if the website looks like it needs some serious love, I wont stick around.

Be willing pay for courses

I went to college for 4 years, mostly studying art and design. I loved my classes, teachers and the friends I made there, and I don’t regret one scent that I spent there.

When you want to learn how to do something really well, you need to be willing to pay to be taught how to do it.

Sure, there is a ton of free info out there.

The problem with free information is that it’s not always good. And it doesn’t have to be, it doesn’t cost you anything.

I have paid for and taken 3 blogging courses so far, and have learned SO much with each one.

My results with Pinterest Traffic Avalanche

I started my blog, got it up and running, and waited for the traffic to flow. After weeks and then months of crickets, I started to wonder WHAT I was doing wrong. I did the Pinterest thing (or at least I thought I was doing it), tried to optimize my site, and did everything I could think of to get visitors.

But NOTHING worked.

My traffic floated between 200-1000 views per month for a looong time. There were some days that I literally had 10 views per day. I wanted to give up, because there was no way in my mind that I could EVER make money from a gig like this.

It was too hard.

Que Alex and Lauren

After searching for answers on Pinterest, I found Alex and Lauren, and their blog Create and GO.

They started out as just two crazy kids with a dream of working for themselves, quitting their jobs and travelling the world. They wanted to be full time bloggers, and have the financial freedom to live life the way they wanted.

Alex and Lauren made their dreams come true, and now make over $100,000 per month with their two blogs, and their courses that help others learn how to do the same thing they are doing.

Living life on THEIR terms.

(The link’s to Alex and Lauren’s course below have an affiliate code. This helps me get a commission at no extra cost to you, if you decide to purchase. This basically tells them that I told you about their courses, and is a thank you from them to me. If you do decide to purchase this course, please use one of my links below. My blog traffic exploded

Like I said, I was surfing around a sad, sad pool of 10 visitors a day.

10 visitors.

Turned out, I was doing everything the hard way.

I bought Alex and Lauren’s course Pinterest Traffic Avalanche. This was hands down one of the BEST investments I have made for my blog. After just one month of implementing the info from Alex and Lauren’s course, I started to see a massive upward trend with my blog traffic.

I went from getting less than 1,000 views per month, to getting OVER 10k views per month!

WHOA!

The chart above is a picture of my actual traffic from the last year and a half.

In the first 10 months of my blogging business, I made practically no traffic. You can see that up until March, I was struggling hard.

In March 2018 ( the month I bought Pinterest Traffic Avalanche) I had 10,066 visitors and 11,858 views to my posts. In April 2018 I had 16,047 visitors and 18,821 views. That is an amount of traffic I never dreamed would be possible.

(You can see I had a short decline of traffic in May-August 2019, but that was a blogger wide issue. Pinterest had some issues with Google, and TONS of bloggers got their accounts temporarily suspended on Pinterest at no fault of their own. Once our accounts were turned back on, our traffic started going back up.)

These views are proof it works

Another thing to note is that in 2018 I published 59 posts and had under 9k views that whole year.

This year, I have written 75 posts and had 115k views so far. That is WAY less posts for the amount of views, which means I did less work to get more traffic. BOOM.

Every month I now get to see an increase in my views and my visitor rate. This is the best feeling, and it just keeps on getting better and better.

My blog actually feels like a business now, and that is helping me live my dream of being a stay at home mama.

If you want this kind of traffic for your blog, go buy Alex and Lauren’s course Pinterest Traffic Avalanche with my affiliate link here. You wont pay any more for it by going through my link. The only difference is that I get a small commission from Alex and Lauren for promoting their product for them.

How this course can change your blog, and your life.

If you do what I did, and really apply yourself with the information they give you, Pinterest Traffic Avalanche can redefine traffic for your blog.
