Orange essential oil is one of my top favorite oils because of its sweet, citrus smell. It just seems to freshen up any room and make everything feel so much cleaner.
That is why there are so many companies that use the orange scent in their products, and why so many of us prefer that scent over others.
Today I want to go over how you can use this oil in your own home, and use it as a natural remedy as well as a natural cleaner.

Orange oil is one of the most inexpensive, commonly used essential oils. It has a wonderful, fresh scent and instantly makes a room feel clean. Today we are going to go over some of the benefits & tips I have for using Orange Oil.
The essential oil Orange oil is derived from the peel or rind of the Orange fruit and is extracted through a cold-pressed process, unlike most essential oils.
Orange oil has been used in Eastern medicine for thousands of years and aids things like colds, and digestive issues, easing depression and lifting your mood.
Orange oil and the Mind
Citrus oils in general are typically thought to promote a healthy mind, a positive outlook, and increase happiness. Orange oil is used to lift your spirits, create a clean atmosphere, and improve cognitive function.
How to use this oil for the mind:
Orange oil is considered “photo-toxic” which means that you should not apply it directly to your skin, especially if you plan on being in the sun. To use this oil, dilute with a carrier oil like coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or jojoba oil.
It can then be applied to the inside of your wrists, run through your hair, or can diffuse in water with an essential oil diffuser.
Orange oil and Digestion
This essential oil can help aid in digestion by increasing the secretion of digestive enzymes and may help to relieve gas and constipation. You can use orange oil to help with digestion either through inhalation or application. Use orange essential oil in a diffuser or combine with a carrier oil and apply to the abdomen.
Orange oil and the Immune System
Sweet orange oil is a powerful antioxidant and can help to improve immune health. Orange oil has a high d-limonene content, which has been known to help fight certain cancers.
Orange oil can help fight off cold and flu symptoms and helps to detoxify your system. You can use this oil for these benefits with an essential oil diffuser.
Orange oil for Cleaning
Because of Orange oils fresh scent and antiseptic properties, it makes a great household cleaner.
Orange oil is great for killing germs and bacteria and can be easily mixed with baking soda and water to create a homemade multi-surface cleaner.

Orange oil and Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy is one of the quickest and easiest ways to get the benefits of essential oils. I always have this oil on hand because if I’m feeling down, I can always unscrew the cap and breathe in the oil for a quick pick-me-up.
