Elderberry cold cures, stop a cold, fight a cold

When you are getting sick, the last thing you should do is to just grab the NyQuil and call it good. Today I am going to talk to you about how to use Elderberry to stop a cold in its tracks.

If you are here, you probably like to live a healthy, more natural life.

Using Elderberry is a great first defense against cold and flu season!

What is Elderberry?

Elderberry Syrup for colds, immune boost, fight a cold with elderberry

Black Elderberry, or Sambucus Nigra, is a European berry that has been know for its ability to help fight off virus’s, and keep you safe from the common cold.

There are a lot of healthy, natural products you can buy instead of over-the-counter meds, that contain Elderberry.

Orange Juice may be the first thing that you think of when you start to get the sniffles, but you may want to rethink that.

Both are high in Vitamin C, but Elderberries have more antioxidants than Blueberries, high in Vitamin A, B-complex, and even minerals like Iron.

Adding Elderberry to your orange juice when you are sick is a FANTASTIC way to keep your immune system boosted, and fight off any nasty infections you may be coming down with.

Elderberry Juice

Elderberry juice can be more commonly found these days, mostly at health food stores. You can use Elderberry to stop a cold by drinking the juice plain, without adding anything to it.

This is different from Elderberry Juice concentrate.

Plain Elderberry juice can be sipped as is, where Elderberry juice concentrate is SUPER concentrated, and can be added to Orange Juice or Tea for an extra immunity booster.

Both are great options to take!

If you like just sipping on something cold when you are getting sick, I suggest trying Elderberry juice.

Elderberry Concentrate

Elderberry juice concentrate is a great thing to add to any warm or cold drink for an immunity boost.

This thick, almost syrup like concentrate is a good addition to juices, teas, ciders or you can take it like a cough syrup as well.

Elderberry tea

My favorite tea when I feel like I am getting sick is by the brand Pukka Herbs.

Their Elderberry & Echinacea tea both tastes amazing(lots of delicious fruity flavors!) and helps to fight off infection.

I usually drink 2 cups a day when I am under the weather, along with (taking separately) Elderberry juice and Oregano oil.

This helps to alleviate congestion, soothe a sore throat, and give a good boost to your immune system.

You can also add Elderberry juice concentrate to your tea!

Elderberry (Sambucus) Cold Care

This is similar to traditional cough medicine, but so much better for you.

My favorite brand (and my husbands) is umcka cold + flu elderberry syrup. This is my go-to if either of us is feeling sick. Plus, it actually tastes good.

There are a lot of great Elderberry cold syrups that we have tried, and they all work!

We prefer this one just because of the taste, and how quickly it reduces symptoms of colds and flu’s.

Elderberry Lozenges

This is a great item for on the go.

ZAND makes Elderberry + Zinc Lozenges for colds and sore throats.

These work SO well, and give you a good immune boost if you feel like you are getting sick.

These are a good easy way to keep healthy!
