17 tips to help you stay positive in life

Being positive is more than just having a good attitude.

Here are 17 ways you can stay positive, and find more joy in life!

1. Look for the good

If you look for it, there is good in almost everything.

Be intentional about searching for the good things in life, and the positive ways people are engaging with the world and each other.

2. Affirmations

Create positive affirmations for yourself daily.

“I am capable of joy.”

“I am kind.”

or something like,

“I have a ‘can-do’ attitude.”

Meditate on your affirmation, and remind yourself of it throughout the day.

This can really help you to feel stronger, more confidant and happier.

3. Treat yourself… kindly

Sometimes we are our own worst enemy.

Instead of reminding yourself or things you think you “can’t”, remind yourself how good you are doing, and what things you can do.

Using positive self talk can do wonders for your self esteem and mindset!

4. Plan fun things

This could be going on a walk, getting a cup of coffee, watching your favorite movie, etc.

Plan fun things for yourself, and it will help you to stay positive!

5. Stay healthy

No one want’s to be sick, and it can really damage your mental health.

Try as best you can to stay healthy, especially during cold season.

There are lots of naturally remedies you can use to stay healthy, and boost your immune system!

6. Balance your Hormones

If you are a woman, your hormones could be causing your to have mood swings, be more emotional, and feel like crying more.

Having a hormone imbalance is rough on your mind and body!

7. Make lists

Making list is a great way to organize your thoughts, and checking them off actually sends dopamine to the brain.

8. Make plans with friends

Make more plans!

Seeing friends is a great way to stay positive, and have something to look forward to.

9. Find one positive thing every day

At the end of each day, think of one thing that made you smile.

Finding something good about every day is a great way to stay positive in life.

10. Listen to music that makes you happy

Listening to and playing music has great positive effects on mood!

11. Turn negative thoughts around

Thinking positive not only means coming up with positive thoughts,

but reframing the negative.

Turn thoughts like “I just can’t do it.” into “I can try my best, and if I don’t get it today I’ll try again tomorrow.”

Give yourself grace, and keep a positive spin on everything.

12. Show kindness to someone else

Being kind to someone else has a way of rubbing off on you!

Go out of your way to be kind to others, and you may find a little joy along the way.

13. Start using a mindfulness journal

Journaling is one great way to be happier.

It lets you get your thoughts out, and when you have a mindfulness journal, it can be very thought provoking.

Practicing mindfulness is a great way to stay positive.

14. Find something to look forward to

Create things to look forward to every day!

This could be hot cocoa before bed, reading, making time for a walk during the day, morning yoga…

Whatever makes you happy and content.

Exercise is my FAVORITE form of self care, and gives you the boost you need to make the rest of the day better!

Find a form of exercise you enjoy, and try to do it everyday.

17. Communicate your feelings

Pent up feelings and emotions can make us feel sick.

Find someone you can talk to, and get these pent up feelings out.

You mom, your best friend, your spouse…

Whoever makes you feel the most comfortable and will listen to what you need to say.
