How to Focus on your Goals in 2023

I have big plans for 2023 and have had them for a while now. If you’re like me, you want to really focus this year on making those goals a reality.

One of my biggest goals is to pay off our debt and start a second business.

While I know those are big goals, I’m sure many of you have big hopes and plans too!

So how do we stay focused, and even better, what can we do realistically to give ourselves the best chance at success?

(This page contains affiliate links and health information. If you want to read more about that check out our disclaimer page)

Tip #1. Break the year up into quarters

The human brain works really well with quarters.

Let’s think about it…

We break up the year into Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 for business,

and the months also have 4 weeks.

I always think of the year in quarters, and this might just be because I do run a few small businesses.

But this concept applies even if you don’t have your own business.

Quarter 1 (Jan-Mar) is where I know I can get the most headstart on my projects, while Quarter 4 (Oct-Dec) is the holiday rush quarter, where I’m just hustling hard to make the most out of the end of the year.

If you’re a stay-at-home mom, that first quarter is where you can set yourself up for the quarter with a good budget, plans for your kids’ activities, and laying out what goals you have for yourself.

No matter where you are or what you’re doing, make a concrete plan that you can follow for the next three months and check in with yourself in Q2.

Making small goals for yourself works way better than huge overarching plans.

Make Quarter 1 your kick-off, and really set yourself up for success in the first three months of the year!

Tip #2. Grab a planner and use it

I know I’ve mentioned this one before, but this tip really does help!

One of my biggest tips for using a planner successfully is to NOT write out the whole month.

Start with the week you are on.

There is less to accomplish in one week than a whole month, and focusing just on that one week will make your goals much more achievable!

Just like breaking the year into quarters, focus on one week of the month at a time.

The main reason a lot of New Year’s resolutions fail is that the end goal is too far out of reach. Our motivation to make our goal a reality depletes if we don’t achieve it quickly enough.

It’s good to put intended Milestones on your calendar to see where you need to be, but try not to make it overwhelming.

So as far as planning content or work goes, just write out that first week!

Tip #3. Nothing Changes if Nothing Changes

Quote by Jericho McMatthews in Fire and Flow

I have been doing a month-long virtual workout challenge with one of my favorite trainers, Jericho McMatthews.

In one of the workouts this week she said, “Nothing changes if nothing changes.” And that STUCK.

It’s so true.

It’s true about our mindset, our habits, our motivations, and our will to do something.

How much do you want your goals, and what are you willing to change to get to them?

I think before we can actually change anything in our lives, we have to change our minds.

Tip #4. Use a supplement to help you Focus

Lastly, and as always, let’s talk supplements.

I got this supplement back in December, and was excited to kick start the year with it!

It’s called Focus-R, and it is a Godsend for concentration and focus early in the morning.

I have to say, this product really does work to keep me in the blogging zone.

Focus-R in my work supply basket on my desk at home.

To give you some context, I have a 3-year-old, and I wake up at 5 am so that I can get work done before he wakes up.

And sometimes, coffee just doesn’t do it for my concentration.

You all know how much I love LifeSeasons, and how excited I always am to try new products they come out with, so when I saw that they had a Focus product, I was ecstatic!

Ingredients I love

Let’s talk ingredients!

The thing I love most about Focus-R is that it has really amazing ingredients for brain health that help with concentration, memory, and increased attention span.

That’s due to these amazing herbs and vitamins below!

Vitamins B-6 and B-12

Vitamins B-6 and B12 are very important for our overall health, but especially our brain health.

As we age, we can become deficient in a lot of vitamins if we don’t make sure to keep a healthy diet full of nutritious, vibrant foods.

B6

Vitamin B-6 is essential for mood regulation. B-6 builds the neurotransmitters that regulate important hormones like serotonin, GABA, and dopamine.

B-6 also helps with memory and focus.

When we are deficient in vitamin B-6, we can feel symptoms such as brain fog, low mood, low energy, and sleeplessness, as well as some skin conditions. (Click this link to learn more about B-6)

B12

Vitamin B-12 is linked to our energy levels, and making sure our bodies are getting enough ensures better sleep, energy, and brain function.

B-12 contributes to the creation of both DNA and RNA, and according to the Global Healing Center, works side by side with other B vitamins to create red blood cells.

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo Biloba is a species of tree, and it is widely known for its ability to promote healthy circulation, as well as aid in relieving memory issues.

Because it is an antioxidant, can help reduce the risk of Heart Disease, Alzheimer’s, and even Cancer.

Ginkgo has been also used in Europe to help treat patients with dementia.

Yerba Mate

Yerba Mate is a type of tea that has been prized for its ability to stimulate the mind, and improve focus, as well as for its antioxidants and ability to enhance physical endurance and performance.

There are a lot of healthy energy drinks that include Yerba Mate as one of the key ingredients, and it’s no wonder!

Green Coffee Bean

I learned recently that Green Coffee Beans are coffee beans that have not been roasted yet.

Once coffee beans are roasted, they lose some of the benefits, including healthy weight management, better brain health, and regulated blood sugar levels.

Because Focus-R does contain Green Coffee Beans, I wouldn’t recommend pairing it with other forms of caffeine.

So if you plan on taking it, make just have one cup of coffee for the day, or skip it altogether.

This supplement does contain more ingredients than I have listed, but these are my top 4 ingredients that I wanted to highlight.

Conclusion

Focus-R has really helped me as a blogger to step up to the plate for my next big project and start getting so much more done than I thought possible.

I hope this short list has given you some inspiration for this year, and how to achieve your goals in 2023!
