How to boost energy naturally

How to Boost Energy Naturally, and WITHOUT coffee.

Let’s be honest for a second: Who hasn’t suffered from a caffeine headache? I certainly have. Trying to quit coffee is HARD! We all need a good ol’ energy boost sometimes. So, is there a way to boost our energy naturally, without caffeine?

There are a lot of things that we can do to kill the brain-fog and get our bodies feeling more energetic,

And you cant buy them in a coffee shop.

Here are some ways that you can boost your energy naturally, without caffeine.

Scroll to the bottom of the page to see our list of 7 ways to boost energy naturally!

7 Ways to Boost your Energy

Eat more healthy fat

I put this first because it is SO effective.

Healthy fats like dark chocolate, avocado, tree nuts, and tree nut butter, coconut oil, and grass-fed butter are great things to add to your diet to get more energy.

Our brains are mostly made up of fat, so when we don’t get enough in our diet, we can feel tired and lethargic.

Drink more water, less sugary & caffeinated drinks

Our bodies are made up mostly of water, and all our organs (including our brains) need it to work properly.

When we bog our bodies down with sugar and caffeine, we get dehydrated.

Dehydration can cause us to feel more irritable, stressed, and can also cause brain fog and tiredness.

Try drinking at least 1 gallon of water a day.

This will help to flush out any nasty toxins from your body, make you feel better, and help get rid of any sugar cravings.

Drink your greens

Drinking green juices can be a great way to boost your energy!

You can either make green juice at home yourself or buy it from almost any local grocer.

My favorite recipe for green juice comes from Your Zen Life by Teresa Palmer, and is a great way to keep you energized throughout the day!

Something else you might want to try out is Adaptogens.

Adaptogens are herbs, roots, and mushrooms that help your body adapt and handle stress (cortisol), and regulate those hormones.

A lot of Adaptogens have been used in Herbal Medicine for hundreds of years to help combat stress and aging, improve concentration, as well as fight fatigue, and provide lasting energy and endurance.

The basic function of Adaptogens is to help your body adapt to the stress it is under, maintain homeostasis as well as support anabolic recovery.

Bala Veda is a supplement company that makes these cute, tasty, easy-to-take shots that are PACKED with Adaptogens and herbs that help your body heal itself.

I have been taking adaptogens for a good long while now in my coffee to help support immunity, as well as help us focus and give us more sustainable energy.

Because I enjoy Adaptogens so much, when this company reached out to me I was so excited! And now that I’ve tried them out, I LOVE these little fruit-based adaptogen shots.

Bala Veda Adaptogen Shots

I’ve tried all of these flavors and they are so tasty!

The two Energy shots (purple and green bottles) are made with the Adaptogen Cordyceps.

Cordyceps is a fungi that has been used in Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine for hundreds of years. Cordyceps is known to help restore ATP (adenosine triphosphate) which helps deliver energy to the muscles, making workouts more effective.

It also helps support recovery after exercise and boosts energy.

What I love about the Energy shots by Bala Veda is the taste, the size, and the ingredients.

Bala Veda has two Energy shots (pictured above!) and they both have really great ingredients.

Greenlight Go Energy Shot Ingredients:

  • Mint
  • Matcha
  • Pineapple
  • Cordyceps
  • B12
  • Green Coffee Bean Extract
  • Eleuthero

As well as a few other clean ingredients!

The Greenlight Go Energy shot has lots of good antioxidants and is great for keeping our bodies healthy and well while fueling our energy needs.

Blue Lightning Energy Shot Ingredients:

  • Vanilla
  • Blueberry
  • Cordyceps
  • L-Theanine
  • Green Coffee Bean
  • Eleuthero

As well as a few other clean ingredients for flavor!

The Blue Lighting Energy shot (Purple bottle) has the added effect of helping with inflammation. This is great especially if you are running or doing high-impact exercise.

These energy shots are great whether you prefer sweet or tangy. I personally love the Green one because of the mint/pineapple combo!

If you are looking for a good replacement for your go-to energy drink, this is the way to go. These shots are really quick and easy to take, as well as jitter-free!

You can get in a nutritious energy boost right before heading to work or the gym without thinking about a drink sloshing around in your gut during exercise.

Working these Adaptogen shots into your routine would be a perfect way to get on the right foot this year, and start a routine that is delicious and easy to stick to.

Get Moving – Exercise

Exercise is one of the best ways to boost energy!

Even if you’re groaning, its true.

Exercise gives us endorphins, the chemical in the brain that triggers happiness and is what they call getting a “runners high”.

Think of it this way, how many people actually say after working out,

“Man, I really regret that workout.”

I cant think of any.

Diffuse Essential Oils

Aromatherapy is a good way to create a energized, or relaxed environment in your home.

Essential oils like orange, lemon, grapefruit, peppermint and rosemary are great for staying energized.

Check out this post by Whole New Mom to see a list of 7 great essential oils for energy boosting.

Get upside-down, with yoga

yoga for boosting energy naturally

Yoga is my personal favorite way to boost my energy.

Not to mention, yoga practice can build muscle, and make you feel super strong and confident.

Getting your blood pumping and circulating properly can give you a good flow of energy and optimism!

Try a Hormone Balancer

Hormone imbalances can definitely lead to fatigue and stress.

They are also getting more and more common in the United States as there are so many pesticides, GMOs and unknown chemicals in most of our food, especially dairy and meat products.

If you think you may have a hormone imbalance, there are a lot of natural remedies you can use to re-balance your hormones.

It’s my suggestion that you do NOT settle for hormonal birth control to “balance” hormones.

That is a very temporary fix, and can cause problems with fertility, and birth defects later on.

I have a product called 3 Week Hormone Reset, that can help you to detox your body from everything causing an imbalance. Click here to check it out!

  • Drink more water, less sugary & caffeinated drinks
  • Drink your greens
  • Get Moving – Exercise
