Today I want to talk a bit about happiness. I want to show you how you can truly be happy, and some simple ways you can change your life to make it a better place to live.
Since optimism doesn’t come that easily for all of us, we need some help.
Sometimes, we just need a little push in the right direction.

Change your Mentality
You can’t have a “wo is me” mentality and be happy at the same time.
Happiness is a state of mind, and a choice.
There are bad things that will happen to you, but you have to make the choice to be happy.
This is not as easy as it sounds, but if you want to be happy, the first step is deciding that you are going to be happy. THEN you can start pursuing a way to get there.
Having a morning routine is a great way to start the day out right!
If I don’t get to do my morning routine, the whole day feels off, like I cant concentrate and can’t function.
For me, this means washing my face, brushing my teeth and brushing my hair.
After that, I am set and ready to tackle the day.
Find out what things you need to do to feel motivated and ready, and then make sure you do them first thing. This could be exercise, cleanliness, or even just making breakfast.

Starting a Self Care routine could be a game changer for you.
When was the last time you REALLY took care of yourself?
If it means getting 30 minutes of alone time on the weekend, taking a bath every night before bed, or going window shopping at your favorite store, make sure to take some time for yourself.
This will help recharge your battery so that you can better function in other areas of your life.
You can’t pour from an empty cup.
Be intentional with your time
Do you often find yourself running late and being super frustrated?
Not making extra time between events or daily tasks is exhausting, and can make us feel anxious and rushed.
By making sure that you are just 10 minutes ahead of schedule, you can help yourself feel less stressed and more prepared.
And this means completely ready to go, not getting ready to leave the house. Make sure you give yourself at least ten minutes on top of the time you need to get wherever you are going.
Being intentional with your time can also mean allotting your time intentionally with other people.
Don’t over book yourself, and leave room for things you actually WANT to do.

Re-think Negative Thinking
Negative thinking is the thing that will get you.
This can be anything from thinking “I wish I was…” to “If only my life was more like…” to “If only THEY were more…”
First off, we cant control other people.
Second, what good does negative thinking do?
I know it can be hard when you get into the habit of thinking negatively, so I wrote a whole blog post about how to change your mindset, and STOP negative thinking with healthy self-talk.
You might be surprised, but eating healthier CAN actually make you a happier person.
The quality of the food we eat is important, not only for our physical health, but for our mental health too.
Foods like sugar can have a negative effect on your brain function, and can actually lead to depression.
By switching to a cleaner diet, less carbs and sugar especially, you will start to feel 10X better.

Wake up believing in new possibilities, forget yesterdays stress and worry
You cant control the past, or the future.
Each morning when you wake up and roll out of bed, believe that this new day is a new start. Fresh possibilities and opportunities to start again.
As long as you are trying, you are succeeding in life.
There is no one that can stop you from having a crazy awesome life that you love, but you. Always remember that.
